Strange Geometries: Note the geometrical patterns on the railing above Holden in this shot:
And compare it with the geometric pattern on the door to the Hobart farmhouse:
Both shots find rectilinear shapes being violated by organic curves, representing the intrusion of superstition on the rational world to which Holden clings. Both images occur immediately after supernatural occurrences that Holden dismisses.
