Dear Friends at SpeakOut!, Thanks for your vote in support of misc.activism.general. I wonder if you know we've made a publicizing "brochure" for you activists can have automatically mailed to them from our ACTIV-L archiver (see the letter below, which I posted to the ACTIV-L and the UseNet). We are particularly interested in working with Speakout! as part of the PACH (Progressive Alliance Clearing House) project, a key element of which would be to make news, articles, and resources available electronically also available to student activists. By working with networks of progressive students newspapers (PSNs), UseNet and PeaceNet articles, and ACTIV-L resource files -- listings of alternative publications, videos, speakers, entire catalogs, books, etc -- would be made available through these PSNs to their readers -- hundreds of thousands of student activists who do not have access to these resources. The ACTIV-L archiver, upon receiving the appropriate command, would automatically mail to any PSN staffperson writing an article, or student member of an activist group with a computer account, the ACTIV-L archived file(s) requested, such as the Speakout! brochure; the telephone numbers of Senators on particular committees; reports/pamphlets from Amnesty, Oxfam, etc. I'm sending you separately a file describing the PACH project. Please spread the word to interested friends; the aims of the PACH project seem to be very much in tune with your parent organization, the Institute for Social and Cultural Change, from what I know about it. Thanks again, yours truly, Harel Barzilai (harel@dartmouth.edu) [I will be out of state April 11th-14th, but ACTIV-L co-founder Rich Winkel (mathrich@umcvmb.bitnet) will be around] ENCL: PACH project file and an index of archiver files. ################################################################## ################################################################## Philip Agee is now in the U.S. with an international visa.
