The following article appeared in the February 14, 1991 issue of Carnegie
Mellon University's alternative student paper, "The Student Union."  This
article summarizes a lot of important information from a large number of
sources, and a useful education for those who haven't been able to follow
the details of American foreign policy in the Gulf.  Please feel free to
reprint this article in student papers, leaflets, electronic media, or
otherwise.  I think that it is important to get this information out to
as much of the public as possible, and I greatly appreciate all efforts
to circulate it.
