}al -- PeaceNet, EcoNet, HomeoNet, and ConflictNet are 
services of the Institute for Global Communications (IGC), a 
division of the Tides Foundation, a San Francisco-based public 
charity exempt under sections 501 (c) (3) and 509 (a) (1) of the 
Internal Revenue Code.  These networks are to be used to help 
educate users and the general public in efforts to achieve world 
peace, justice, environmental quality, and health.

Political Uses -- The Network shall not be used in any 
substantial way to carry on propaganda, to influence 
legislation, or to intervene in any political campaign.  It may 
be used, however, to discuss in a nonpartisan way legislation, 
politicians, and campaigns.

Business Uses -- Any Network participants using the system 
substantially for business purposes and not for educational 
purposes shall identify themselves as such to IGC management.  
This is to help us assess what portion of our revenue comes from 
activities not directly related to our charitable function.  
Users who have not flagged themselves as business customers may 
not use the system for business purposes.

Illegal Uses -- The Networks shall not be used to plan or carry 
out any activities illegal under local, state, federal or 
international law.

Penalties -- Users found breaking these rules will receive, at a 
minimum, a warning to cease their impermissible activities.  If 
these activities persist, IGC reserves the right to immediately 
suspend the accounts of such users.

Liability Limit -- While IGC shall attempt to ensure the highest 
reliability of its hardware, software, and system content, it 
shall bear no responsibility for any damages accruing to users 
because of system failures or content inaccuracy.  Users shall 
use the system at their own risk.

Copyright Information -- All information on the Network, except 
where otherwise noted, is in the public domain.  It is our 
intent to distribute information to as broad a spectrum of 
people as possible; however, it is up to the users of the system 
to abide by local, state, and federal copyright laws.  
Therefore, all material posted should contain appropriate source 
references where applicable.
