From: jimmer@cmu.edu (Jimmer Endres) Newsgroups: misc.activism.progressive Organization: Carnegie Mellon School of Computer Science Date: Mon, 18 Jul 1994 18:56:12 GMT Subject: Chomsky Archive (officially) online Okay, folks, I've been silent for a while. . . . But the semester is (long) over, I have an account again, and I have gotten myself re-motivated for a project where I turned out to have bitten off more than I could chew. I am pleased to announce the Noam Chomsky Archive---for those of you who haven't found out about it already---more or less online and ready for public consumption at ftp.cs.cmu.edu (or, just in case) 128.2.206.173 in the directory user/cap/chomsky/ (note that there is no slash at the beginning of the pathname). On the Web, jump to http://www.contrib.andrew.cmu.edu:/usr/tp0x/chomsky.html If you have any problems or suggestions, please send email. I will also post (to alt.fan.noam-chomsky) an interview that Jon Slenk and I conducted with Dr. Chomsky on 09 March of this year. It's probably the only item in the archive that is not found somewhere else, and it has an interesting bit that addresses Chomsky's views on the democratizing force of the Internet. Enjoy, Jimmer. -- Jimmer Endres Maintainer, The Noam Chomsky Archive ftp.cs.cmu.edu:user/cap/chomsky/ (or 128.2.206.173:user/cap/chomsky/) http://www.contrib.andrew.cmu.edu:/usr/tp0x/chomsky.html --
