Two-Face engineers the displacement of Commissioner Gordon as the head of Gotham City's police by framing him as corrupt. Enter Barbara Gordon, who becomes Batgirl to clear her father's name. Once again, the characters are drawn sharply and the storytelling is top notch. Two-Face is one of the GREAT Batman villains and here he is given a surprising amount of menace for kid-vid. The Batman Animated Series never shies away from the grotesque aspects of Batman's enemies, and Two-Face is, perhaps, the most baroque of Batman's adversaries. Batman's sidekicks in the series (Robin and Batgirl) strike sparks in their scenes together, which is surprising from a cartoon with relatively limited animation. This is sure to please just about any fan of the comics and most fans of the movies. .
