The Adventures of Batman and Robin: The Joker, 1995. Voices: Kevin Conroy, Loren Lester, Mark Hamill.

Features two of the series's best episodes:

In "Christmas with The Joker," The Joker spreads a little Christmas jeer and sings the classic alternate lyrics to "Jingle Bells" known to schoolchildren everywhere. He takes some prominent Gotham City residents hostage and telecasts his own version of a Christmas special with his "stolen" family. This one is played mostly for laughs and both Batman's Christmas present from The Joker and Batman's take on It's A Wonderful Life are absolutely perfect.

In "The Laughing Fish," an episode based on one of the best Batman stories in the comic books, The Joker and his helper The Harlequin poison the fish offshore Gotham with his smile venom and step forward to copyright the face it gives them. To this end, he begins eliminating copyright clerks with his deadly smile gas, the effects of which are frightening to behold.

The Joker is genuinely funny in both stories and in the second, he is permitted a level of menace rarely allowed in kidvid. Mark Hamill's vocal characterization of The Joker is dead on.
